Transforming Neighborhoods and Congregations One Leader at a Time

Bringing God’s Justice to the Public Square

Uniting Congregations for Leadership Development and Systemic Change

Ending Racism and Poverty

Roanoke Justice Ministries, Inc. is a non-partisan, multi-leader, multi-racial, interfaith community organization that seeks to end racism and poverty in the Roanoke Valley. Each of our congregations sponsors an organizing ministry that reaches into the congregation, and outwards into the neighborhood to surface civic concerns impacting families. Our leaders conduct 1-1 visits with parishioners, neighbors, and friends to nourish leadership development. Once a concern is realized, the justice ministry enters into a research phase where “problems become issues” that can be addressed by uniting with public and private decision-makers. Our congregations also join their efforts to collectively bring together large numbers of people who democratically push for systemic change in the living conditions of their communities at a valley-wide level.
